What is Toptag?
Toptag is a public wall for each city. You write up to 140 characters, choose what to pay (from €1), and your post hangs on the city's wall ranked by that amount: the highest price is on top. Every Monday at midnight, city time, a new board starts, and old boards stay up to read.
How the ranking works
Posts are ordered by the amount put on them, and nothing else: no algorithm, no likes, no paid placement outside the price. Pay more than the post above you and you hang above it; you can add more to your own post later to climb. Ties go to the earlier post.
Who reads the posts
A person reads every post before it goes up. No contact details, nothing about anyone who didn't ask to be on it, and businesses may post about themselves if they say it's them. If a post isn't approved, what was paid comes back.
What people post
Birthday wishes, thank-yous, proposals, shout-outs to a place or a team, a question to the whole city, a business saying what's on. Think of it as a billboard for the whole city, from €1.
Where it is
Walls are open in Barcelona, Ibiza, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Bali, Medellín, and Cluj-Napoca. Other cities have a waitlist: walls open where people are waiting, and the first three posts on a new wall are free.
Questions
One board per city where anyone can post a line to everyone there. Posts are ranked by what their author paid, nothing else.
From €1 to €50, in €0.50 steps; most posts go up for under €10. Pay more than the post above you and you hang above it. You can add more later to climb. New accounts get wall credit to start with, and when a new wall opens its first three posts are free.
At midnight, city time, a new board starts and the race to #1 begins again, so everyone gets a turn at the top. Nothing is deleted: last week's board stays up to read, and every wall keeps its all-time top.
